The Behr scoop on this Barndoor is what set's it apart from every other Dove Blue Kombi on the road.

Bought in late 2016 with an outside respray and some "custom" touches (chrome bumpers, chrome scoop, chrome pod) no engine and no rear seats.

My plan was to make this a bone stock driver.

I started by color matching a set of bumpers and the scoop. I also installed correct splash pans.

Up next was the dash pod. Not only was the chrome unit replaced with a color matched piece, but the wiring nightmare let by the previous owner was repaired as well.
After that, I installed a nice reliable 1500cc

Now that was a driver, I bought a set of repop BD rear seats and had them covered and installed them.

All good so far.

Uh, yeah.
So I sold this one also.....

It went BACK up to the PNW

I did buy a "replacement" VW which is why I sold it. Not enough room for projects at home nowadays.

Wham bam, thank you ma'am.
This was a no-nonsense Slam-O-Matic job with a 4" beam and 4" drop plates added.

We've all seen a drop job in detail, so I won't show that, just the highlights.

Pre-build everything so there's no waiting on parts.

Out with the old...

Decide where you want it to sit, do your math, and set it up once.  thumbs up

When it's done, roll it outside, take pictures and get started on the next one.

Update???

6" beam was too much for the look I wanted, so.....
5.5 Fuchs with 1" spacers to get them out where I wanted them.  thumbs up

Bumper checked for fitment as well.

New super freeway flyer trans to compensate for the small tires is built and in as well.
Long axle, Porsche 944 / Wilwood hybrid, 5.5's for mock up. I plan on running Deep 6's when all is said and done. Bumper fitted. Adjustable drop plates. Lays out nice

Definitely going to need tubs to get the front to match the rear. That was the plan all along though.  wink

 thumbs up

4 wheel Wilwood / Porsche disks. 5.5's all around, Prostreet trans, etc.......

Thanks. It's on the back burner right now so to speak. I have a bunch of customer stuff going on and a few other buses I'm trying to get sorted before this gets any more attention.
Luckily, I'm in no hurry...  thumbs up I have enough other stuff to keep me happy.

This one is also in a holding pattern. I have a buddy that owes me some labor. Once he has time it's going to him for the final touches (tubs, raised steering box, final metal work) then back to me for the running gear and some pint work.

In the meantime I did swap out the 4" beam for a 6" beam with hybrid spindles....

Too much I think.

This all the way up front and rear AND 1" spacers on the front to push the wheel out.

The new brake set up definitely tucks more than the one that was on it before.  thumbs up

Seriously, the tire is in there 5½ inches without the spacer.  shocked

I may switch to 5.5's on the front when I do the final wheel / tire combo.  dunno
