I really like the idea to use the square tubing for the gussets, looks real clean. May have to steal that idea. How much did you raise it? What do yo do about the floor? Next time I do one I think I will try a new trick so I can raise it 2" - 2.5" without modifying the floor. nice job |

I like the idea of that, the only problem I see with that is that the turning radius is shortened a little, I dont know if its enough to matter but if it was you can just extend the center pin pitman arm to compensate. Kinda like a quick steer kit on a bug.
But no that wasnt what I am going to do. I am going to re index the arm forward more and then make a straight drag link that is longer. Read about a guy doing something similar on SBS.

On my old Mango I never covered the hole I cut for clearance and one night I was driving downtown with my kids in the car and my gas pedal dropped to the ground, the linkage fell off underneath so luckily I reached in through the hole was able to get it back together to get us home. It would have been a long shitty night if it wasnt open. It was the weekend so drunk tourists were everywhere, they were even walking up to the bus looking inside being load and scaring the little ones.

Very nice.
Maybe one day I can get over cutting up a bus and make it way more user friendly.

I think its a great mod... even the thought behind destroyn' greman boxes is enuff justifiction to resolve the tragedy.. jus my thinkn' no need to cut just to cut, but sometimes it jus makes sense! |

Man, I hear you.
I have had the shaft brake after a hard hit.
It is very bad when making a turn - the shaft brakes and the bus takes its own path.
I change my box right away now after a hard hit after that.
