Bodywork is near completion.  Second block and minor fixes are complete.  Final block and to paint in the next week.  Final color choice?  After much reflection, I am going with pearl white.   thumbs up

Metal fabricator and body guy "Dave" is getting the body into shape tending to the last few details, blocking, and getting us ready for paint.  Dave has been the man behind the great work you see here on the 63 body, chassis, and motor details (along with some great powder coaters and painters).  Remember, great results happen with all the hard work put in, long before the spray gun starts shooting color.   thumbs up

Taking care of the underside.  A few areas to patch, tending to the small details.  Deck lid is blocked and another round of primer and blocking.  Dave has it handled.   thumbs up

So pictures of the 63 in primer start to all look the same, but it is what is happening between each primer step that really makes things nice.  Blocking in 80, 120, 220 (primer between each) gets you to that high quality finished product.  Final primer coming up, then 400 wet block and we are ready to shoot.   thumbs up

And FINAL color choice has been made.  L324 Polar Silver.

Lots of blocking and touching up the last few areas.  Final chassis fit up with doors, decklid, hood, and fenders in about a week.

After that, breakdown and final wet blocking in 400 and 600.  Then we paint.   thumbs up

Super nice!! thumbs up I am in about the same spot with my 66 bug. I am thinking about using Dupont's Nason 2 stage for paint. I am curious what you have been using for primers and what you will use for your base?? Looking forward to seeing this thing come together.

Final primer. Hood is getting its last blocking, then final fitting to the chassis. Final wet sand in 400 and 600 and onto paint. Very long road to here, but getting close.  Body lines are looking amazing.  Thanks Dave.   thumbs up
