After this weekend at the BOR in So Cal I talked to a few more people about rollin out with their busses and everyone seems to think it's a cool idea and may want to roll too. There's a couple buses that are in the condition that my son's was or is currently but will be road ready by this time next year...

From the first page in this thread...

Since Rich 50 sold his Bus and Tommy keeps moving I'm sure the route will change, but the overall drive looks the same.

Yeah who knows. It would be bad ass for sure. How long of a trip would it be? I would concider taking the family too but that may be too much for them
I need to have someone rebuild my gas heater before shit gets too cold. Anyone know someone who rebuilds them?

If I rolled out with all of you I feel like I should paint my shit box before going  oops

2 days of driving, so figure 3 -4 days with stops and sleeping.
I have to work on a heater as well. My new engine has a sidewinder with no heater boxes....  shocked

Crofty (samba) rebuilds heaters, I have one I may send his way for a tune up, it mounts under the front floor and shoots air right up next to the stock heater tube. It came out of my Highroof so who knows what it'll need.

My "test" run will be from Phoenix home after BOR. I plan on trailering my RHD out there for Copperstate and leaving it, then flying out for BOR and driving home. That way I can fix any kinks before we hit the road for Florida.

 I have this thing.

it was in the bus when I got it but cant figure out where it would mount. I know it is supposed to go on the inside of the engine compartment on the left side of the engine, There is a hole in the cargo area that it blew throug I assume. Just doesnt seem like it fits  dunno

No permission slips needed as far as I'm concerned. The more the merrier too.
All I ask is people know how to fix their cars or have someone with them that does.
I'll always offer my help, but I do not plan on being the trip mechanic. My tool box will consist of a AAA card and a cell phone.

My brakes and suspension are new, Engine is a fresh built 1776 still not in the bus, so really all I can think of would be wiring or tranny failure
I would go through the whole bus before I would even consider driving to Kelly park so shit would have to have my full confidence to roll out across the country. I would not want to hold anyone up.
As of right now this is just hopes though.  dunno

I really would love to go, but I hate saying I'm going and at the end I have to back out. I'll try my best and bring Johnny with me in case I need some grease from his hair  biggrin

Sometimes the stupidest (is that a word) things brake...I would at least take extra cables (throttle and clutch) maybe even 2 of each...Or if I go you can buy the shit from me!   thumbs up

it is an "interesting" show....I remember rolling in LATE...there was a huge line in the non pre-registered line so I hit the pre-registered line...was directed to the next person, they asked me where I wanted to go, I said to the Foreign Policy vender booth, they told me the direction it was in so off I went....lol....that part was painless for me yet nobody believed me when they asked how long I was out in the line...lol....
