Here's a link I found to be very interesting! I like the way they added strength to the set-up.

Have any of you done them this way? If so, pros & cons please!

Come on... tell me how you really feel about the way they did it? It looks superiour to some "other ways" I have seen them done!

Better...yes. Overkill....yes. People have been flipping spindles the same way for 30 years(maybe longer). If it didn't work or was unsafe people would not do it.

In all theory the only "correct" dropped spindle would be a welded non-flipped version.

 Nate at Wagenwest makes welded drop spindles and last time I talked to him he had a jig to do them with only one pair. He does 4",5" and 6"

Welded spindles have been around too but you must understand that a spindle is forged. A welded spindle is not a strong but done correctly should not be a problem.

As long as they are using the same link pin they will work.
Brakes can be different on a late '63, but you can swap the brakes over as well if need be and you'll be set.
