Removed the body off the pan, both halves were quite rusty, with the passenger side being the worst, large hole in the rear section.
Not having the proper tools for the job and this being the first time at this, things are going good yet slow. managed to get both halves removes and new pans are prepped to go in. practicing the old welding skills.
This is my son's car, a good project for the both of us, learning as we go!!!!

You have to host them some where than add them. Hence the new "bug" section in the gallery.

  Pressed the ball joints in today and got one set of torsion leaves in. Is there any tricks to doing this with the bearings steel in the beam?Huh? It was a pain in the but to line them up with the adjuster. Thanks to Dave it only took like 2 hr banghead

Taper the leading edge of them.
Do it WITHOUT the arms on.
Install them in a such a way that the last one you install is NOT on the outside but rather on the inner part of the stack.

 Almost done with the beam! Might Have a rolling chassi next week  biggrin Thanks Greg, the torsions were so much easier when starting from the outside to in. Thanks!!!!!

 Its a CB Performance Beam that I believe has a poor design Huh?/ thinking When the beam was in the car the bottom adjuster would hit the road on uneven surfaces and bumps. It ended up grinding the bolt down. Here is a pic off the internet, it looks like the adjusters are in the same spot to me.??

I knew the right side heater channel had some rust but when I really checked it out I decided patching just was not going to do it. So I opted to replace it entirely.

So after after a long day in the garage, with the step dads help, the heater channel is in. The after market channel did not line up very well so there was some trimming and banging around to get the bolt holes in the right spot. banghead The worst part is that it came with a twist in the channel that was a real pain in the ass. But satisfied at the end of the day. Not with the channel though there must be some one that makes a better one!!

Got Busy with work but I have been doing some things lately. The PO had made the radio hole bigger but I felt like "going going back back to OG OG" Biggie Smalls reference.

The last few days me and Rag top Dave have been going hard. The goal was to get the inside,the trunk space, and the fenders in epoxy sealer and then a filler primer.

When we striped the fenders we were in for a big bondo surprise  thumbsdown we filled the millions of small bumps and dents and just crap. There was one large dent in the rear right fender that I banged out and then added bondo. It would have been easier to bye new fenders but what is the fun in that Huh?

We striped cleaned,did a rust converter, cleaned and sanded again and finally we were ready to mask and do some painting after two days.

Thanks guys! appreciate it. Ya the garage set up is working I am stoked on it. There is one fender that I should have put more bondo and work into. You can sure see those imperfections when there is some pant on it.

Here is what I have been up to the last few Months. Lots of body work and sanding. I have the body and a few fenders to wet sand and then I am ready for paint. I am steel looking for a rear left fender??? If any one has one.  icon_lol

The Paint laid down real nice, not to much orange peel but their is a bunch of nibs from stuff floating around in the air. Will these buff out? I hop they do, or a least a little.

Painting is Finished I think  ohno Some parts turned out ok some need a lot of sanding/polishing. all and all it went ok for a first timers paint job. I will be moving the project to my house this sunday. I got to to thank my step dad for allowing me to store and do work at his house over the last two years!!!
