I have my Single Cab apart again to replace the bushings at the pivot point of the swing arms (I did an IRS conversion) and the bushings for the spring plates.  I've done a search and most places seem to carry the stock replacement torsion/spring plate bushings (#211 511 245).  I was hoping to find some SAW or similar urethane pieces, but I'm not finding any.  Anyone out there know if they exist?  If so, a good source?  The standard issue Type 1 pieces won't work.

If none exist, does anyone know if the OEM replacement pieces being sold for $20-$37/set are quality pieces - at least on par with factory german?

Also, while its apart I'll be lowering the truck a bit.  Looking to send my front spindles out to Wagens West for some 3.5" units.  Trying to match the rear, and I was curious if anyone might have a picture of the position of the spring plate when they lowered the rear.  Let me know.

Thanks for your help.   wink

More info on the rear ( for height issues) Thing, Bus, Bug, or Te IRS?

I also sent you a PM regarding spindles.

Its a '63 Single Cab with an IRS conversion from Wolfgang Int'l.  I've used a pair of swing arms from a '72 Bug.  The spring plates are modified by Wolfgang.

Before anyone comments on Wolfgang, I bought the kit several years ago (before several new sources arrived) and went ahead and used it.

Nothing wrong with Wolfgang. They pretty much pioneered all the suspension stuff  people copied and sale now, myself included.
They never got into the narrowed beam business though....  thinking
